Building the software behind a volunteer English tutoring program.

The program
ConnectPlus matches students in China with volunteer English tutors from U.S. high schools. The nonprofit offers free lessons to students with learning disabilities.
The work
I led architecture and development of the platform, including scheduling, messaging, authentication, role-based access control, and Stripe payments.
This work involved the full application rather than a single infrastructure component: translating the program's needs into workflows that tutors and students could use.
The result
The platform supported approximately 150 volunteer tutors and 50 early-access students. My part-time role concluded in 2025.
