A little background
Hi, I’m Austin.
I’m a software engineer at Netflix, working on caching and datastores. My work spans the systems responsible for storing and retrieving datasets served in memory and managing the distributed caches used for high-throughput, low-latency access.
Some of my recent projects include fast dataset propagation, incremental validation, recoverable datastore deletion, and fast provisioning of infra resources.
I joined Netflix full-time in February 2025 after interning on the Key-Value Platform. Before that, I interned on the EC2 ZIM team at AWS and also worked on web and mobile applications. I graduated from Emory University in December 2024 with a B.S. in Computer Science.
In 2025, I also led engineering part-time for ConnectPlus, a nonprofit tutoring platform.
Away from the keyboard
I climb, ski, fish, train jiu-jitsu, watch anime, and spend time with my dog Daisy ( if you can't tell I love trying new hobbies 🙃 ).
